The Great Blizzard of 2010

What a crazy weekend. It started snowing late Friday, and the boys were beyond excited. "It snowing!!! It snowing!!" We raced outside. Here's Cooper, tasting the snowflakes, and Zach and Charlie trekking around in the blizzard.

Saturday morning, we had a grand total of about an inch and a half of the white stuff, and by 8:15 (a.m.), the boys were ready to go build snowmen. I dug through their closet and found two snowsuits that my friend Jill had given us. They fit Zach and Charlie perfectly (as modeled here),

but were way too big on the Coopster. Unfortunately, Cooper (Magellan) is the one who really needed the snowsuit. (While Zach doesn't like getting his hands dirty, Cooper never met a mudpit he didn't like (see previous blogs)). Anyway, here's what Cooper was forced to wear to brave the elements. He was not happy.

Yes, that is a duck costume. What can I say? It was one piece, warm, and fit very well over his pants and sweater. Stylish, too. I tried telling him he was like Gossie, but he wasn't buying it.

The two snowkids and the snowgosling lasted about 4 minutes in outside. Too cold, and Cooper just couldn't get over the fact that he was fowl. So everyone came back inside, and we spent the rest of our snowbound morning rocking on the water.

Brian was a good sport for sharing his pirate ship, but I had to send him to timeout when he made Cooper walk the plank.

I am so happy that the snow pants came in handy and worked! YEA!!!!! Sorry to Cooper for not having a third pair. Hope to see you at Charlotte Squawks!
